10 Possible Causes of Anger


The last thing I want to do is give you any reason to become angry. Sometimes when you get angry you may know what caused it. Sometimes there is another underlying cause and you might not always know what that is. There is no mistake in experiencing anger. The body gets a sudden jolt of adrenaline, the heart rate quickens, you clench your jaw, and muscles become tense and tight.  At this point the anger must be released, the longer it is held onto the more harm it will cause. The problem is most people don’t let go of their anger and don’t realize that letting go is much healthier for them.  By holding onto anger there becomes an increased risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. If you do not control your anger, it will control you.

Often times, feelings of depression can come about when you become angry.  Later, when you have cooled down and you realize that your outburst was somewhat abnormal, depression can set in because you are unable to cope with those feelings, causing you to feel bad and depressed.  Experiencing anger can also reduce your ability to think and act logically.  It makes the truth difficult to comprehend and causes you to become unreasonable.

Here is a list of ten possible causes of anger. By viewing this list from time to time; you will be reminded of life’s little and not so little irritations. These are gentle reminders to help you control any anger currently in your life. After each cause you will find a few words in red to help you control each cause.

FRUSTRATION: You are a complex person and someone or something gets in the way of your goals and anger can arise at any given time and place.

Relax, breath deep, look for another way

EXHAUSTION: When you become extremely tired your mind and body are drained and you can’t cope with problems and you lose your temper.

Sleep, take a nap, do something relaxing you enjoy

LACKING: Feeling inadequate in any way can make you angry and depressed.

Learn why you feel this way and realize it is just a weakness you can make stronger.

DISRESPECT: No one likes to be disrespected and that can really make you angry, especially when you are not being treated justly or fairly.

If someone disrespects you, forget them, spend time with those that love and respect you.

PAIN: Every little thing can make you angry when you are in pain, and the more extreme your pain, the more intense your anger.

Research ways to eliminate or reduce pain, see your doctor, do meditation

EMBARRASSMENT: Being embarrassed, especially by someone else, can make you angry and feel like you want to get even.

No need for anger, learn from it, don’t do it again, forget about it, move on

CONFUSION:Not being able to reason or figure something out can induce anger and that can also lead to frustration.


Again, no need for anger, if you can’t figure it out, find someone who can, or forget about it, move on

INTIMIDATION: No one likes to be intimidated and feeling insecure leading to anger and feeling inadequate.

Work on your self confidence and self esteem and you won’t be intimidated by anyone.

JEALOUSY: When the green eyed monster rears its ugly head, anger is usually close behind, causing you to do something completely irrational.

Forgive, forget

STUPIDITY: Sometimes anger will arise from not being aware and some people will see that as being stupid when it is not justifiably the case.

Become more aware, educate, work on your self confidence
